Social media is obviously an important part of any brand’s marketing but can be extremely time consuming to maintain a consistent, engaging brand image across all your social media platforms. There are many social media automation tools available that go beyond helping you schedule your posts across all your social channel. The tools I prefer are Buffer and Tailwind – in this post I’m discussing Tailwind.
Tailwind makes it easy to create content and schedule your posts well in advance as well as get insights that are important for the best engagement. Tailwind offers a web-based and mobile app that allows you to schedule posts across Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Using either the web platform or mobile app, you can upload images to auto post, or the system can send you a push notification when it’s time to post – specifically for Instagram, if you don’t have a business account, you will not be able to take advantage of the auto-posting feature.
After you enter your caption, the system will automatically generate recommended hashtags for optimal engagement and also will schedule your posts for optimal times of engagement based on your account and trends with your actual followers. The hashtag prediction tool is extremely helpful – hashtags help new fans find your content, so the right hashtag strategy is important and this tool makes it easy to select the right ones.
The web based platform also offers insights into your best performing posts and updates constantly to recommend the best times and content for engagement.
UPDATE – October 2020: Recently, Tailwind had to make changes due to changes in the Instagram API (the techy term for how third-parties integrate with Instagram). To use a service like Tailwind or any other social media automation tool with Instagram, you will need a business account. I’ll post a article soon on the different types of Instagram accounts and which is best based on your business.?
